More than 50 years have passed since entrepreneur Jan Sundell began servicing vehicle washes, which led to the start of Westmatic. At that time, existing facilities often broke down, whereupon Jan was asked to develop a new Swedish-made vehicle wash. When the first truck wash was delivered in 1984, it was an immediate success. Since then, Westmatic has delivered more than 4,000 washing systems to customers around the world, to almost 20 countries, with the goal of providing all our stakeholders and the world with a sustainable solution for the future. It is truly a great feeling to see a sparkling clean bus rolling down Manhattan in New York and know that that particular bus was washed in a Westmatic facility.
