Westmatic Australia's bus wash systems get your buses clean in under two minutes. Our bus wash machines are incredibly efficient and versatile with the lowest life-cycle cost of any machine on the market today. This is based on our reduced maintenance requirements and reduced consumables, such as water, power, and chemicals as well as a much smaller footprint to operate in reducing building costs.

Drive-Through Truck Wash System

Public transit fleets with a demanding wash schedule (more than 30-40 buses per day) are a perfect fit for Westmatic's Drive-Through machine. The Drive-Through reduces wash cycle time to about 90 seconds per bus. Our drive-through machines are completely customizable and can operate with brushes, in a touchless mode, or with a combination of both.

Rollover/Gantry Systems

Bus fleets with a less demanding wash schedule (less than 30-40 buses per day) can choose a rollover or gantry machine. This style of machine directs the driver to pull into the wash bay and park. The machine begins to wash over the vehicle on a floor-mounted track system. Wash cycle time is about 5-6 minutes per bus.

The new Brady Mobility Center, which was procured through design-build, will accommodate the administrative functions, operations and maintenance needs for MARTA’s entire fleet of mobility vehicles (specialized vans and cutaway buses).

Westmatic worked closely with the design-build team to determine the wash system that would best serve MARTA’s current fleet configurations and any future fleet procurement.

Dual Hybrid Drive-Through Brush Wash System, Brady Mobility Center

The Westmatic Hybrid Drive-Through Bus Wash System was chosen for its programming options. The Hybrid is capable of washing in three different modes — a combination of brushes and touchless, brushes only, or touchless only.

Two units were installed in an 80’ long x 40’ wide wash bay. Drive-Through style machines were selected to accommodate the facility’s high-volume wash schedule. Westmatic was able to reduce equipment room size thanks to our compact, skid-mounted water recycling system and pumping stations.

The installation also features a chassis wash and a water recycling system with an ozone generator. Westmatic’s water reclamation system is designed to achieve the highest economical level of water recycling without chemical additives, recycling approximately 85% of used water.

The facility also utilizes a dryer system, which not only helps dry the buses and remove spotting but provides other benefits such as limiting the amount of water carry-off into the parking lot or storm sewer. It also increases the amount of recycled water by blowing the water back into the wash bay.

Providing transportation for an estimated 500,000 passenger boardings each weekday, MARTA’s buses and rail cars are rarely out of service and it’s important to keep them washed and looking good. The new MARTA Brady Mobility Center is a LEED® Silver facility.
